Fortune Magazine – Designing the less than ideal health care system

Oh, how I wish the world worked the way Shawn claims it does! I’m guessing he is a believer in that seldom found commodity called “compassionate capitalism”, where companies honestly compete with each other, pay real wages, pass savings on to consumers, etc. In Mr. Tully’s world, it is the regulations that we place on the health care industry that are the real problem. If we just deregulated them, freed them from the shackles of state regulation, which the Heritage Foundation calls “excessive regulatory intervention” then, like all our other deregulated industries, magical consumer savings would appear and the industry would be “fixed”.
